The Project
Este trabalho é uma compilação de composições feitas por mulheres brasileiras atuantes na cena instrumental do país.
Hoje, quando somos ainda maioria minorizada, cotidianamente silenciada, sentimos a necessidade concreta e objetiva de registrarmos e materializarmos nossa existência e nossos discursos.
Partituras também são discursos. Narrativas sonoras que precisam soar e urgentemente serem ouvidas. Quando apenas uma porcentagem ínfima do trabalho na cena instrumental é ocupada por mulheres, um livro de partituras, objeto potencialmente agregador, pode ser uma importante ferramenta no movimento por equidade de gênero na música e um convite potente e afetuoso àqueles que queiram ouvir vozes que já não serão silenciadas.

This is a compilation of songs written by Brazilian women who play important roles in the nation’s instrumental music scenario.
Nowadays, being a majority that has been minoritized and silenced day after day, we feel the concrete and objective need to register and materialize our existence and our speeches.
Sheet music can also be considered a form of speech. They are audible narratives which must resonate and be listened to with urgency. While an alarmingly small percentage of all the work featured in the music industry is actually done by women, a music score, something potentially ennobling, may just be a crucial tool within the movement that fights for gender equality in the music scene, as well as a powerful and loving invitation to all of those who seek to hear the voices that shall no longer be silenced.
